Panama City Beach Beach Safety received donated CPR training equipment from the Gary Sinise Foundation to upgrade lifeguard and first-responder training. The gift included smart mannequins and AED training units intended to provide real-time feedback during practice.

Beach Safety Director Daryl Paul said staff train throughout the year and are recertified in CPR annually; he described the new mannequins as providing “live, in-the-moment feedback, with compression rate, depth of your compressions, and things like that,” which he said will improve training. The donation replaces older foam mannequins and adds electronic metrics first responders can use to assess technique.

Linda Lowry, the foundation’s military first responder liaison, characterized the equipment as part of the foundation’s broader support work. Director Paul noted that data shows early chest compressions and early defibrillation can save a life, and said Beach Safety staff will use the donated tools to teach the community about CPR.

No criminal activity, injuries, arrests, or ongoing investigations are reported in the source material; the documented material concerns a charitable equipment donation and training use by Panama City Beach Beach Safety personnel.
