A former behavioral health assistant at Middleburg High School was arrested following a Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigation into alleged possession of chld s3xual abuse material. The suspect, identified by the agency as 36-year-old Robert Rahn III, was taken into custody and booked into the Clay County Jail after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Fleming Island.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit conducted a chld exploitation investigation in coordination with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the North Florida INTERCEPT Task Force. Deputies say all occupants of the Fleming Island residence exited and were detained without incident while investigators served the warrant. Probable cause was developed to arrest Rahn III on charges related to possessing or intentionally viewing chld s3xual abuse material.

The sheriff’s office reports Rahn III previously worked as a behavioral health assistant at Middleburg High School from August 2021 to February 2022 and volunteered with the school’s football team. Deputies also allege he coached or volunteered with youth football programs in Nassau County and Tallahassee areas; those allegations are attributed to the agency.
