Two hospitalized after car struck tree and caught fire in Orange County
Two people were hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into a tree and caught fire in Orange County, Florida, according to Orange County Fire Rescue. The agency reported the crash occurred Friday morning at about 8:04 a.m. near the intersection of Palm Parkway and S. Apopka Vineland Road.
Firefighters arriving on scene found the vehicle on fire. The driver had exited the vehicle before crews arrived, and Orange County Fire Rescue personnel extinguished the flames. Two patients were then transported to hospitals by fire rescue crews and/or emergency medical personnel.
Medical transports included one person taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with burns and a second person taken to Orlando Health Dr. Phillips Hospital with what was described as minor injuries. The agency has not provided additional details about how the crash occurred or whether any other people were involved.
At this time Orange County Fire Rescue’s public account provides the known facts: the timing and location of the crash, the vehicle fire at arrival, that the driver self-exited before firefighters arrived, and that two patients were transported to local hospitals with the injuries described above. Circumstances leading to the collision and any ongoing investigation have not been documented in the agency release.
