Fatal two-vehicle crash on US 19 in Cross City under investigation
A deadly two-vehicle crash occurred on US 19 in Cross City, Dixie County, on Thursday morning and is under investigation. State troopers reported the collision involved an SUV and a pickup and resulted in one fatality and one serious injury.
According to the investigating agency, the crash happened a little before 11:30 a.m. Troopers say the SUV struck the pickup. A 32-year-old woman from Palm Beach County was died in the crash, and a 41-year-old man, also from Palm Beach County, sustained serious injuries and was flown to UF Health Shands.
The Florida Highway Patrol (state troopers) reported that neither occupant of the SUV was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
