A Johnson County Community College Police Department officer has been charged in connection with an alleged s3xual assault involving a woman who reported waking up in the officer’s vehicle after leaving a Westport club. The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office filed counts of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy against officer Rodrigo A. Sanchez-Flores following the woman’s report dated Sept. 29, 2024.

According to court records, the victim told investigators she could not remember leaving the club with Sanchez-Flores and later woke up in his vehicle. A s3xual assault forensic exam was completed and testing returned evidence of male DNA. Witness statements and surveillance video cited in the probable cause paperwork indicated the woman was highly intoxicated at the time she left the club.

Detectives extracted content from Sanchez-Flores’ cellphone that prosecutors say includes 11 videos and four images; one of the videos is described in the affidavit as showing a man and woman engaging in s3xual intercourse. Those contents and the forensic results are cited in the charges, but allegations in the charging documents are not findings of guilt.

Sanchez-Flores is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail on a full-cash bond set at $10,000 and is scheduled to appear in court next month. Records reviewed by prosecutors show Sanchez-Flores began working for the Johnson County Community College police force in June 2024; a state licensing record indicates his certification remains active pending any disposition in the criminal case.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
