Alachua County detectives are searching for a woman accused of using another person’s identity to withdraw cash from three Capital City Bank branches in the county. The agency says the incident occurred on July 14, 2026, and that the suspect obtained a total of $16,200 during the series of withdrawals.

According to investigators, the first withdrawal took place in High Springs at about 12:15 p.m. The suspect then went to the Newberry branch roughly 40 minutes later for a second withdrawal, and at about 1:40 p.m. she made a third withdrawal at the Fanning Springs branch. Those times, locations, and the $16,200 total are provided by Alachua County detectives as the chronology of the alleged scheme.

Detectives allege the woman posed as the victim’s wife to effect the withdrawals. They describe the suspect as a white, middle-aged woman with long brown hair who was last seen wearing a beige shirt, black jacket, black pants, black flip-flops, and black-framed glasses. These physical and clothing descriptions come from the investigating agency.

The case status, per the agency, is active: detectives are seeking public help identifying the woman and have provided a contact for tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Peter Michaels at pmichaels@alachuasheriff.org. No arrests or proven convictions are reported in the agency release.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
